4. Try before making it permanent
You shall select more than one name for your Shih Tzu and start calling him/her with those names. If you are confused about which one to select, then probably your dog can help you with the same.
When you start calling Shih Tzu with the names, you can analyze his reaction on each name. You shall name him the letter which shows more excitement in your eyes and body language whenever called.
That will also help him to understand and relate that message as a permanent name for Shih Tzu.
