If you have a Shih Tzu pup at home, you might have often thought of taking him along to the departmental store for shopping. But you could never gather the confidence of braving this task, anticipating the crazy stuff your pup might end up doing.

But that’s not the case. If you allow your Shih Tzu only a few doggo liberties at the shopping store, he will be more than happy and behave like the most obedient pup!

Firstly, please don’t tie a chain too tight and be a control freak! It’s the worst way to treat your puppy. Shih Tzus get really sad at that. Allow him some free time around the isles. Let him explore his treasure island! All he will do is wag his fluffy tail and walk at your heels. Such adorable munchkins these are!

The second thing you do is, let him stare at his favourite stuff on the shelves. It doesn’t matter if it is some hair dye or soap and detergents. If he wants to simply gape at them, just let him. After all, he is not causing any harm or damage!

Next thing you do is, pay him some attention and carry him around in your arms for a while. Walking around for the whole time can tire him out. Moreover, he doesn’t have his blanket around to sit and relax. And sitting on the dirty floor will call for a bathing session.

So the best thing is to carry him in your arms, only for a while. This way he will know that you aren’t ignoring him and his little paws will get some rest.

Apart from all these, the most important thing you should keep in mind is to keep a strict watch over him. Give him freedom but under a close vigilance. Shih Tzus are very friendly dogs and can socialize with anyone with ease. And more than your mischievous pet, you really can’t trust people and their bizarre habits. How big are Shih Tzu?
The Shih Tzu is a snugly built little animal with a solid, sound structure. It stands from about 8 to 11 inches tall at the shoulders and should weigh from 9 to 16 pounds. The most common and incorrect pronunciation of Shih Tzu is: Sh*t Zoo however, that isn’t actually how the little lion breed is supposed to be announced. According to the American Shih Tzu Club, the official and publicly confirmed pronunciation of Shih Tzu is: “Sheed-zoo."

The name comes from the Chinese language word for "lion" because this kind of dog was bred to resemble "the lion, as in traditional oriental art". Interestingly they are also known by another name tied to their European introduction. The Shih Tzu is sometimes called the Chrysanthemum Dog, a nickname that describes the way the hair on their face grows out in all directions. They look like a flower with a nose for the centre.

What colours do Shih Tzus come in?
The Shih Tzu is a breed that can be found in an array of colours and with a variety of markings. It's common for owners to not know for sure what colour their Shih Tzu is. Sometimes a puppy may be referred to as an unofficial colour that is not recognized by the AKC, or another kennel club, through which the pup is registered. How much attention does a Shih Tzu need?
